The brand new iMac featuring the Quad Core i5 Processor from Intel has begun shipping from Apples manufacturing plants. We expect to have available stock within the coming days/weeks.

A Benchmark by Electronista has been tabled and from these first reports the iMac 27inch i5 is FAST, VERY FAST. Around 3 times faster than the previous model, the iMac 24inch Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz.

The system is perfect for the power/resource intensive creative and design applications such as CAD and Adobe suite. We can't wait to test it in a dual environment such as Boot Camp or Parallels with Windows 7 and Snow Leopard.

TEKNIA is selling this unit for $2490 which is great value and well below the $2599 RRP.
